A Message from Bob Key on Dottie

To the friends of Dottie Key:

I would like to thank all our friends in the the Dayton Ski Club for the support during Dottie's illness and after her passing for the support given to her and the family in the way of cards, phone calls, visits, food, beautiful flowers, and just the love that was shown by all. Dottie had about 400 people attend the viewing and a large majority were ski club friends. The club has really been a big help in getting me through this time of need and I can never thank all of you enough.

Letters from the President

January 2010 President's Letter

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season.

It’s going to take some getting used to writing 2010. Where did 2009 go?

Better yet, what’s ahead in 2010 for the Dayton Ski and Board Club?

We are always looking for activity suggestions. We know from 2009, we will do another Zipline adventure, Dragons’ game, Canoe trip. I’d like to try and stir some interest in a DSBC cruise. Is it time to try Put-in-Bay again? Can we organize some camping weekends this year? Five Rivers Metro Parks has numerous activities I think we are going to try and combine with this year. We have done softball and sand volleyball in the past but need someone to organize these activities. Chris Zurbuchen and Carolyn DeLong have some nice ideas for several biking events.

We have the OVSC Summit here in June which has always been a very nice weekend to meet members of the other clubs.

I could continue to mention individual activities, but our goal this year should be to be able to provide fun and entertaining functions for our members. Everyone has their own reasons for joining the Dayton Ski and Board Club so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact one of the Board members and spend a few minutes letting them know what you would like to see from us.

One thing I would like to know – if we planned several "u-drive" ski weekends- would anyone be interested? I’d like to try some of these in the future and be able to offer a little more activities for our "family" members. For myself, I have several grandchildren who are starting to ski and I think that would be a great weekend for us. Please drop me an e-mail and let me know your thoughts at President@daytonski.org.

We have elections coming soon on Wednesday Feb. 3rd starting approx. 7:30 pm at Brixx. Nominations are still being taken from the floor at each meeting and will continue until just before the voting begins. Please plan on attending.

Respectfully,

Bob Ewald
