A Message from Bob Key on Dottie
To the friends of Dottie Key:
I would like to thank all our friends in the the Dayton Ski Club for the support during Dottie's illness and after her passing for the support given to her and the family in the way of cards, phone calls, visits, food, beautiful flowers, and just the love that was shown by all. Dottie had about 400 people attend the viewing and a large majority were ski club friends. The club has really been a big help in getting me through this time of need and I can never thank all of you enough.
Bob Key

As I write, we are having one of the largest snowfalls of the 2010 winter. It is so beautiful.
Something else beautiful is the attendance at our meetings and on our trips and the quality of our Wednesday night programs and the trips that have gone out already this year. Everyone seems to be having a great time. (Was that a terrible segue or what?!)
Seriously, though, it appears everyone is having fun, our membership is rising and we have a great line-up of trips. Tells your friends about us. The more the merrier.
I would like to take a second and thank and congratulate the members who stepped up to run for the Board this year. We have several new faces which is exciting.
President-elect - Juree James: Juree stepped in last year to fill a vacant spot on the Board and is also our Webmaster.
President - Dan Hapner: Dan was filling a vacant spot as President-elect thus had to be elected to the Presidency. Dan has held many positions on the Board. Dan and I actually learned to ski at Sugarcreek together. Wow-how long has that been?!
Treasurer - Chris Zurbuchen: Chris has agreed to stay one more term – and thank goodness she has!
Skiing Vice President - Rick Kruse: Rick decided to take another turn at Skiing Vice-president.
Secretary - Debbie LeVan: Debbie is a prior Board member.
Three Year Trustees - Brenda Rasor: Brenda will be a fresh face on the Board
Three Year Trustees - Steve Blatt: Steve is continuing to be a board member for another three years.
One thought for the upcoming year, if you have any ideas of events or programs you would like to see please contact a Board member and share your thoughts. We are always looking for new and exciting activities. We will be planning for the summer and winter 2010 year during the next couple of months so please let us hear your ideas. Softball and Volleyball leagues would be fun to bring back. What about a White Water rafting trip or camping trip in the Smokies? Please let us know what you would like to see DSBC offer this summer and next winter. Many of you have already filled out your Ski Trip Survey so we know what you prefer for your winter trips. For those of you who have not filled out a survey there is still time to fill one out. Contact Rick Kruse to get a copy of the survey.
Gotta run. I’m heading to Park City this morning.
Respectfully,
Bob Ewald
President
Dayton Ski and Board Club
