The Board is Recruiting a Marketing Team

Volunteers are being sought for brainstorming marking ideas for the club.

A Message from Bob Key on Dottie

To the friends of Dottie Key:

I would like to thank all our friends in the the Dayton Ski Club for the support during Dottie's illness and after her passing for the support given to her and the family in the way of cards, phone calls, visits, food, beautiful flowers, and just the love that was shown by all. Dottie had about 400 people attend the viewing and a large majority were ski club friends. The club has really been a big help in getting me through this time of need and I can never thank all of you enough.

Letters from the President

July 2010 President's Letter

The Board has been very busy this month. It seems like the summer has just begun but the Fourth of July already has passed. This month we have several volunteer opportunities in the Air Show July 17 & 18th or Mud Volleyball July 10th. Both events are a great way to get out name out there and let the public know all sides of the Dayton Ski and Board Club.

Air Show volunteers have the benefit of seeing the air show in comfortable air conditioned surroundings with desirable parking and a free lunch.  Contact Marty Baldwin (236-5534; Email: mbaldone@earthlink.net) if  you can help with the Air Show or Bob Ewald (Email: bob@daytonski.org) for Mud Volleyball.

The board is busy working on this year’s ski trips. For the trips that have been confirmed you can find information on them on the website. Speaking of trips, we will be offering a trip leader training course on August 11th at 6:30pm at the Marriott. This is for all current trip leaders and anyone who would like to learn more about being a trip leader. The meeting will discuss what is expected of a trip leader, the point system used to choose a leader and provide ideas on how to be a good trip leader. If you are interested please contact Rick Kruse ( 241-4303; Email: rkruse45@sbcglobal.net) or Dan Hapner (528-0345; e-mail: rosehapner@aol.com)

All trips will go on sale at the Kickoff Picnic which will be held on Sept 12th.  The pricing of the trips will depend on the air fare charges.  Fuel surcharges and taxes can fluctuate up or down and are not locked in until an air ticket is issued which for our trips is usually about 3-4 weeks before the trip date.  Once the trips go on sale the trip leaders will have the most up to date information about the cost at the time you discuss the trip with them.

The board has many things planned for your summer like biking trips, hikes, horseback riding zipline adventure, canoeing, water fun and many other things.  Look for the details in this newsletter.  Don’t forget we have the Dayton Dragons game on July 24th Sat @ 7pm. For tickets contact Mike Coyle (885-7062 Email: mcoyle@woh.rr.com ) or Dan Hapner.

Until next month stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.
